PLEASE NOTE: THE TIMINGS FOR THE RACE MAY DIFFER TO PREVIOUSLY ADVERTISED BUT ARE REQUIRED TO GET YOU ALL STARTED SAFELY AND ALIGN WITH OUR COVID-19 PROTOCOLS.

Please listen closely to all marshal instructions and remember to keep a safe distance from the runners around you as you are guided to the start line.

Please note: you will be set off in waves based on the estimated finish time entered at the checkout. 

As you will be aware our events have been modified to ensure we can adhere to social distancing and the guidelines issued by the government and UK Sport.  Please familiarise yourself with the measures that will be in place at the event HERE.

Thank you for your cooperation with the new regulations in place at the event, these are necessary to ensure a safe environment and mean that we can continue to provide race opportunities.

If you have been in an affected place, been in contact with someone with coronavirus or had any symptoms in the last 14 days please refrain from attending the race. For further guidance please visit the NHS website HERE.

Race Packs 

If you entered before Monday 31st May, you will receive a race pack in the post. If you entered after, a pack will be waiting for you to collect on the day. If you are expecting a pack in the post and do not receive it by the race, please head to the information desk before your race on Sunday morning and we will issue you with a new one.

You will not be able to run without a race number and chip.

NO CHIP MEANS NO TIME.

When you receive your race packs, please take a couple of minutes to fill out the brief runner Information form which can be found printed on the back of your bib. This will help us greatly in case of an emergency!
Collection Times

If you are collecting your race pack from the event village before the start of your race, we advise collecting between the following times:Half Marathon – 8:30-9:30am
10k – 9:20-10:20am
5k – 9:30-10:30

Race Start 

The colour of your race number will relate to the wave you are starting in. This has been determined by the estimated finish time given when signing up.

Within the event village you will see the directional signage guiding to the start line. Each start area will be marked out to help prepare you all into your start formations with help from the marshals. When arriving please familiarise yourself with the start area.

Each wave will be called to the starting pen where our marshals will guide you into a start formation with 4 runners, all 2m apart, being started every 10 seconds.

Toilets

Toilets will be available within the Grandstand next to the event village. Lining up for these toilets will be socially distanced. If you live locally we recommend using toilets at home.

Hygiene Stations

There will be multiple hygiene stations around the event village and start/finish area for all participants to use throughout the event. These will have hand sanitiser, wipes, spray, tissue and bins for the disposal of any tissue or litter.

During the race

The entire course is inside Cheltenham racecourse on a mixture of multi-terrain & concrete paths, not on grass.  The route will take you around the entirety of the famous Cheltenham Racecourse track! For the 5k and 10k, look our for KM markers and for the half marathon, there will be mile markers.

The race involves laps of the course. There will be 1 lap for the 5k, 2 laps for the 10k and 4 laps for the Half Marathon.

If you need to overtake on the course please be sure to take a wide berth around the runner in front.

Spitting and nasal clearance during the race is NOT permitted.

Spectators
Non-essential spectators are strictly banned at the event. Entry will be refused and they will be asked to leave if present. This includes the event village and all areas of the course. The venue will be enforcing this on the day. We are sorry for the inconvenience but due to our COVID-19 protocols in place at the event we need to limit the people attending the event to be participants only.
Refreshments

Please bring your own water to the event to avoid congestion on the course, if you are not able to do so, there will be a water station on route. We recommend staying hydrated in the lead up to the event.

Baggage

Please limit the number of belongings you bring to the event and if possible leave anything in a car.  This is in order to reduce contact between runners and staff. There will be an informal self-service bag drop area within the event village for runners who need it.

After the race

Do NOT stop within the finish area. Please continue through the finish until you pass the medals and are in an open space.

There will be sealed ACTIPH water bottles at the finish for each runner to collect along with your medal, Love Corn and Kind Snack bar which will be laid out on tables for you to help yourself.

We ask that once you have collected your medal, goodies and water to leave the event as soon as possible to avoid groups congregating within the event village.

We will have a photographer taking a few snaps of the race and they will be on Facebook after the race so be sure to check it out and see if you can spot yourself.

COVID-19 NHS APP

We recommend downloading the NHS COVID-19 App onto your phone if you haven’t already before the race. Find out more HERE.

Free lateral flow tests are now being offered by the Government for everybody in the community to help stop the spread of COVID-19. These can even be ordered to your home, further information can be found HERE.

By Car

The racecourse is just a 5-minute drive from Cheltenham Town Centre, on Evesham Road. Alternatively, just off J11 on the M5.  If you are using satellite navigation, please key in the postcode: GL50 4SH. Alternatively, you can use the AA Route Planner and select GL50 4SH as the destination.

There is adequate free parking available within the Racecourse, please follow signage and marshal instruction from the front gate and head into the car park located adjacent to the event village.

By Train 

The nearest mainline station is Cheltenham Spa.

Trains run every hour from Bristol, every half an hour from Birmingham and every hour from London. When you arrive at the station, you can catch a taxi and get to the racecourse in 10 minutes.

The racecourse is easily accessible by both foot and cycle.
